Cloud Galileo Thermometer

The Galileo thermometer is a fascinating device based on the principle that the density of a liquid changes with temperature. This clever thermometer is made of high quality borosilic glass and contains clear liquid with several multi-colored glass orbs containing liquids of different density. As the temperature changes, the balls rise and fall within the liquid-filled thermostatic cloud. Each bulb is calibrated with a small metal tag indicating a specific temperature which range from 64ºF to 80ºF. The lowest sphere in the top group within the instrument indicates ambient temperature. Hardwood base measures 4-1/4″w x 1-1/2″d, and contains five different temperature indicators. 4-1/2″h x 5-1/4″w. Indoor use only. A dynamic and colorful gift.
